Something is weird with my side of Xanga.  Can anyone tell me if my site looks normal to you?

Anyway...life is CRAZY here.  We were given a 60 day notice (30 days ago) because the owner is selling.  We just this week found a place...FINALLY.  We're waiting to hear about application approval.  I'm so excited to move.  The place we're currently in has no A/C.  So it'll be good to get into a place that does.  I also went to look at the school Joel would go to and it's very cool.  It's older, but has great ratings.

James is looking to get a full time job on top of building his business.  That way I can stay home and focus on the boys and school.  I'm praying for this.  One week before we were given notice I had planned to give notice at work.  So for some reason (some I know and some I may never) God closed the door at that time.

School is going well.  I'm doing a research paper on employee training.  It's very interesting.  I can't wait to graduate next spring...finally.

The boys are doing great.  Joel is excited about making new friends.  Silas is as busy as ever.  He's starting to fight back with his brother and it's quite a brawl.

We get the pleasure of taking care of our prospective pastor's boys this Friday.  We're going to go bowling or mini golf depending on the weather.  I am SO EXCITED about this family.  They are just about to arrive in Sac from AL and it's a very good thing.  He's going to spend the remainder of the week meeting with church leaders and then preach on Sunday.  Please be praying that God's will be done.  As far as the committee and pastor, we are convinced this is God's will.  We're praying a baptist business meeting won't mess with His will though.

Well that's about it.  Please keep us in your prayers if you remember.  We should be moving this week, if all goes well.  We are so happy February is gone and over, it's been a rough month, but a good learning time about many things.  Praise HIM!

Well it looks like I am going to give notice at work in the next 2 weeks.

God has totally blessed James' (our) business.  He has gone from scrapping the barrel to having so much work he doesn't know how he will get it all done.

So we've been praying since October for me to be able to stay home.  James was convinced long before now, but it has taken some work on me from God.  Then I was driving home from work this last week in prayer and the song "Let it Go" by Sierra came on the radio.  If you don't know the song, it talks about letting go of whatever circumstance you are in and letting God bless the step of faith.

So, now the only question is when.  I think it will be this week, but not sure.

I say all of this to ask for your prayers.  Please pray for courage on my part.  It seems a simple step, but when I think of the uncertain future of being a self owned business, it's not so easy for me.

Thanks ahead of time for your prayers.

Christmas Journies

Hello all-

We have been on a 12 day journey across the country.  Right now we're at James' parents home.  We have been having a wonderful time.  It took us three days to get out here.  We're going to take 4 to get back.  We had a really good time with the Syhlowy's in AZ.  We're looking forward to seeing them on the way back.

Christmas went really well.  Joel got everything you can imagine with the Cars movie theme.  He almost has all of the matchbox Cars vehicles.  He even got the semi.  It's pretty cool.  Silas is having fun with the animals.  They gave him a miniature horse cart ride a few days ago.  He didn't like that.

We all went to a mall here called the Mills.  That was our gift from his parents. We all got giftcards and lunch and a day at the mall.  Very cool.

We're celebrating James' birthday today even though it's not until Tuesday.

I'm having a good time just relaxing and hanging out with the inlaws.

We are leaving early on Sunday and hitting OKC.  Then to NM and then AZ and then home.  Vacation has been great, but I'm looking forward to getting home.

Hair Cuts

So James calls me at work and says...."Don't get mad, but I took Silas to get a haircut.".  What would you think?  Then he says, "And the guys didn't speak English.  I asked him for a bowl cut and he SHAVED HIS HEAD"  I'm thinking, Christmas is coming.  Lots of pictures of course and my baby is BALD!  Now mind you we're going to MO in a few days and pretty much all of the Radford's are barbers.

AHHH!!  So I thought my baby was completely bald.  Well as you can see below, it's not that bad.  If you've know James, this is like a mini me of him.  Silas looks SO MUCH like James.

So that's our funny story for today.

Tomorrow we're going to my parents to celebrate Christmas before we leave town.  Very excited.  God has done AMAZING things through this trip, but more of that later.

Have a great weekend!!!

Mentors

I just got off the phone with James and he is very discouraged.  A few weeks ago he started a journey with a mentor.  Well since then his self image has been ripped as far as ministry goes.  My heart is torn as his wife.  I feel like there is so much that James is giving.

Does anyone know of any Biblical resources about men & mentors?  I know there are a ton about women.  I feel like a mentor is there to gently guide while encouraging.  This is not how this relationship is going.  Please pray for him.  He has a heart for Youth Connection and he is being discouraged right now.

Thanks-

Kate
